João Teves, Feb 24 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, today highlighted the “rich environmental heritage” existing in the municipalities of São Salvador do Mundo and São Lourenço dos Órgãos and which needs to be taken care of and transformed into “attractive and profitable spaces”.
“There is a rich environmental heritage that needs to be taken care of, needs to be adapted in order to be visited. We need to qualify our urban and environmental spaces and all that is our heritage and cultural wealth in the tourism aspect, that is, make these spaces profitable and make the product profitable”, said Carlos Santos.
The government official, who was speaking to journalists to take stock of his visit to the two days in the municipalities, in São Jorge, at the “Grandvaux Barbosa Botanical Gardens”, in the municipality of São Lourenço dos Órgãos, one of the points visited, he stressed that it exists in a “very strong environmental wealth”, but which needs to be polished so that it is profitable and brought to visitors.
“Therefore, there is a set of investments that are being made, which will lead to greater attractiveness of the municipalities in terms of investment recipients”, he argued, highlighting the existing partnership between the Government and the municipalities in favor of an urban and environmental requalification to allow for more welcoming spaces, not only for residents, but also for visitors.
