Praia, Mar 26 (Inforpress) – The registry system, already implemented in three islands of the archipelago, goals to “clarify the right to properties” and allows the State to know what it has in terms of land, as well as the owners.
“With the legal support we can know in a very precise way the limits and the rights of each one”, says the executive administrator of the National Institute of Land Management (INGT).
In an interview with Inforpress, Fátima Fernandes, responsible for the INGT’s Cadastre Service department, said that she is “investing in the implementation of the cadastre”, in order to delimit the land.
When asked about situations of conflicts in which people claim that for decades they are in possession of certain lands but do not present the supporting documents, Fátima Fernandes admitted that INGT is daily “confronted” with this type of problems.
