The Presidents of Cabo Verde and Portugal praise the excellent relations between their countries during a historic visit to Boa Vista

Sal Rei, Boa Vista, 24 July (Inforpress) – The presidents of Cape Verde and Portugal highlighted on Thursday, on the island of Boa Vista, the excellence and dynamism of bilateral relations, pointing to the deepening of cooperation in strategic areas such as the Blue Economy.

The position was stated at a press conference at the close of António José Seguro's official visit to Cabo Verde, which marked his first state visit abroad and the first visit by a Portuguese President to the island of Boa Vista.

For the Cape Verdean head of state, José Maria Neves, the moment served as a clear demonstration of the vitality of the joint work between the two countries.

In the economic and financial area, José Maria Neves praised the impact of the credit facilities granted by Lisbon on infrastructure modernisation and job creation, whilst also highlighting the Exchange Rate Cooperation Agreement as a pillar of stability and budgetary discipline for the archipelago.
