Mindelo, August 7 (Inforpress) – The President of the National Assembly stated this Thursday in São Vicente that the visits to companies aim to bring parliament closer to the country's economic reality and gather contributions for the debate on the next State Budget.

Janira Hopffer Almada was speaking to the press during a visit to Fazenda do Camarão, one of the two companies included in the mission’s itinerary, which is taking place as part of the strategy to bring parliament closer to citizens and the various sectors of society.

According to the politician, parliament “must be close to the people, listening to their concerns, their aspirations, their challenges and the difficulties they face”.

Janira Hopffer Almada stressed that understanding the realities on the ground enables a better representation of the Cape Verdean people.
