Praia, 9 June (Inforpress) – The Minister of Justice stated today that the establishment of the National Observatory on Human Trafficking (ONTP) has helped to raise public awareness of the issue and reinforce the understanding of the need for better coordination between institutions.
Joana Rosa was speaking to the press during the Technical Session on the National Human Trafficking Data System organised by the Observatory in the city of Praia, which culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the ONTP and the National Statistics Institute (INE).
According to the governor, the creation of the observatory has improved coordination between the various entities involved in this matter, in a context where information on human trafficking is scattered across judicial and non-judicial institutions.
“The reason we understand that with the creation of the observatory, a public vision was built, a public understanding that there would always be a need for better coordination between institutions,” stated Joana Rosa.
