Praia, 23 July (Inforpress) – The Government announced on Thursday the launch of a National Programme to Promote Collective Entrepreneurship, which aims to organise farmers, fishermen and industrialists into associations.
The idea is to increase production, reduce costs, achieve economies of scale and facilitate access to markets.
The plan was announced by the Minister for the Economy, Trade, Industry and Digital Transition, António Baptista, during a panel discussion held as part of the first quality symposium, organised by the Cape Verdean Quality Association in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Welding and Quality (ISQ), in the city of Praia.
According to the minister, despite the growth in tourism and the increase in the number of visitors to the country, sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, livestock farming and domestic industry have not kept pace with this trend, falling short of their development potential.
