TechParkCV creates room to support female employees during breastfeeding period

Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) - The Cape Verde Technology Park (TechParkCV) has been equipped with a room dedicated to the comfort and well-being of mothers during the breastfeeding period, which was inaugurated today as part of the celebration of ‘March, Women's Month’.

The inauguration ceremony of the lactation room was presided over by the chairman of the board of TechParkCV, Carlos Monteiro, promoter of the initiative, and witnessed by the president of the Cape Verdean Institute for Gender Equality and Equity (ICIEG), Marisa Carvalho, and the representative of Women in Tech, Mayra Silva.

It's a small space within the company, equipped with everything necessary, where mothers can have comfort, privacy and safety during the breastfeeding period to empty their breasts or breastfeed their baby.

Speaking to the press, Carlos Monteiro said that this action, a challenge launched by the administrator of the Operational Centre for the Information Society (NOSI), Mayra Silva, represents TechParkCV's commitment to gender equality and the creation of inclusive infrastructures in the country's technological ecosystem.
