São Vicente: Sports associations call for more support and facilities at a meeting with the Minister for Sport

Mindelo, 9 July (Inforpress) – Today in Mindelo, the sports associations from São Vicente called for more investment, better infrastructure and support for training during a meeting with the Minister for Sport, António Duarte, who promised to review the law on sponsorship.

At the end of the meeting, which lasted more than two hours and was attended by the media, Vlademiro Monteiro, representing the various associations present, considered the initiative to be "very good," as it allowed organizations to directly present the main problems they face.

"It was a rewarding meeting, with a minister starting to call on the associations to hear their concerns," he said.

Representing the Regional Athletics Association, Vlademiro Monteiro highlighted the situation of the tartan track at the Adérito Sena Stadium, a long-standing demand that was fulfilled last year, but destroyed a few months later by the flash floods caused by Storm Erin in August.
