São Vicente: Religious leader believes “very important” the chaplain service for Armed Forces

Mindelo, Aug 9 (Inforpress) – Mindelo church secretary Euclides Cardoso said the chaplain service for the Cabo Verdean Armed Forces be “very important,” something discussed today at the meeting of local religious leaders with the US Navy chaplain.

Through an “open and very frank conversation” between local religious leaders and the US Navy chaplain of the USS Carson City, which is currently in Mindelo, were addressed, according to the same source, certain problems affecting society and the “possible creation” of a chaplain service in the Cabo Verdean Armed Forces.

“I believe there will be a consensus from now on to form, from now on, this service for a sector as important as the Armed Forces, which needs this service very much,” said Euclides Cardoso, who said he spoke from experience since has been military for almost 20 years.

“The response of the world is not to the political leaders, but in the love of Christ, which must be spread and will contribute much to the Armed Forces,” he said. “Good things” will come out from this morning meeting today aboard the American vessel to benefit the military.
