São Vicente: Regional Adapted Sports Association holds talent hunt activity

Mindelo, May 27 (Inforpress) - The Regional Adapted Sports Association (ARDA-SV) is holding a talent hunt activity on Saturday at the Adérito Sena Municipal Stadium in São Vicente.

The president of ARDA-SV, Helder Pio, explained to Inforpress that the aim is to sensitise people with disabilities to sport and that the activity will focus on athletics and weight throwing.

"Sometimes I see that parents tend to leave their children at home because they have a disability. So our association wants to raise awareness so that they can let their children practise some activity because having a disability doesn't stop them from being sporty," said the same source.

According to Helder Pio, the association wants to promote inclusion through sport by creating opportunities for people with disabilities to discover their talents.
