São Vicente: Fishing village of Salamansa hosts solemn mass in honour of the Santa Cruz (Holy Cross)

Mindelo, Apr 30 (Inforpress) - The Salamansa area in São Vicente will host religious activities on Saturday, May 3, with the highlight being the solemn mass in honour of Santa Cruz, the town's patron saint, after more than two weeks of activities.

According to the programme published by the Organising Committee of the Santa Cruz Festivities, in addition to the solemn mass, which starts at 10am, there will be a bouquet presentation and, in the evening, a musical show with local groups and other guests.

Before that, on Thursday morning, there will be a procession and a boat race and, at 3pm, the traditional 16-horse race on the local track, organised by the São Vicente Town Council in partnership with the São Vicente Equestrian Association.

On Friday 2nd, there will be cycling with local athletes and a concert with young artists from the area.
