São Vicente: Fazenda de Camarão Operating on Just 40% of Its Area Since Storm Erin – Administrator

Mindelo, 11 August (Inforpress) – The Fazenda de Camarão Farm has resumed production across around 40 per cent (%) of its productive area, after losses in excess of 50,000 contos caused by Storm Erin, the manager told Inforpress today.

According to Carlos Santos, the company has faced difficulties in recovering its production capacity due to the lack of promised support and difficulties in accessing commercial credit and financing with the announced interest rates. 

"What we are trying to do at the moment is to endure the situation. We haven't received the support that was promised, or we've received very little support. We haven't been able to obtain commercial loans, and we haven't been able to obtain loans at the promised interest rates," he stated.

The manager explained that, faced with these difficulties, the company has tried to remain operational with the means at its disposal, and has managed to resume part of its production.
