Mindelo, Oct 4 (Inforpress) – The second cleaning campaign of the “São Vicente d´costa limpe”, promoted by the Biosfera I Environmental Association, removed more than eight cubic meters of litter from beaches, from Praia Grande to the north of Baia.
This initiative, which took place last weekend, was attended by more than 40 volunteers, according Biosfera I President Tommy Melo statements to Inforpress, who helped in the collection of “more than eight cubic meters” of litter in the coast from the north of Baia to Praia Grande.
A cleaning that according to the same source is being done for the second time by this program “São Vicente d’costa limpe” (São Vicente with clean coast), which started in late August to clean around the entire island.
“The aim is to have our beaches coast, which were already transformed into authentic dumps, preparing them for tourism and protecting the marine fauna,” said the official, adding that Biosfera I was already doing this work before, but now decided to launch this appeal to society.
