São Vicente: Catchupa Factory with the participation of eight photographers who mix experience and self-didactics – organization

Mindelo, May 31 (Inforpress) – The fourth edition of the artist’s residence Catchupa Factory receives eight photographers from Cabo Verde and the diaspora, Angola and Mozambique, which mix experience and self-learning, said the organization in Mindelo.

A further edition of this incentive program for artistic creation in an artist’s residency format, aimed at “emerging photographers and artists” of Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), was launched this Thursday until June 20, organized by the Olho-de-Gente Association (AOJE) in Mindelo.

Another program, which selected eight participants from Cabo Verde, Angola and Mozambique, among 42 applications and, according to the AOJE member, Diogo Bento, said today at a press conference, diversity is “important”, once again, to the “success” of the initiative.

“One of our biggest concerns is not to choose the ten best candidates, but rather the ten that work well together,” said the official, adding that there is also concern about having participants with different levels of experience but also nationality, gender and approach.
