Mindelo, 24 Sep (Inforpress) – Two technicians from Accedere and the Cabo Verdean Federation of Disabled People’s Associations (Fecad) held an awareness and information campaign on Affordable and Inclusive Tourism (TAI) in Sao Vicente addressed to tour and economic operators.
Contacted by telephone by Inforpress, Amâncio Montrond, one of Fecad’s technicians, explained that this initiative is part of the Access to Culture in Cabo Verde and Tourism Development and Representation of People with Disabilities (Accedere) project, funded by the European Union at 39 million escudos.
The awareness campaign, which is taking place at the Madeiralzinho Social Center, aims to provide trainees with specific skills to support and assist people with disabilities and with restricted mobility and communication.
“The campaign is aimed at 20 people, but we are behind the others because at the scheduled time there were few participants. The goal is to reach as many tour and economic operators as possible,” he explained.
