Porto Novo, Aug 30 (Inforpress) – The Sotavento ship, currently undergoing repairs, could start operating on the Porto Novo / São Vicente line as of the first half of September in response to passenger demand on this route.
This is the result of another meeting (every five days) held between the management of the new operator, Cabo Verde Inter-Ilhas, and the Port Administration Company (Enapor), with the purpose of normalizing the situation on the line between two islands, the one with the largest flow in the country, where almost 19 thousand people have passed since 15 August.
Sotavento may start to travel between Santo Antão and São Vicente from the first half of September, with two trips, to respond to the flow of passengers and goods between the two islands.
Since the 15th of this month, with the beginning of the maritime transports concession to the new company, more than 25 thousand passengers have been transported throughout the country, almost 19 thousand of them in the Santo Antão / São Vicente line. At this moment the inter-island ferry is being ensured this line with four trips daily.
