Santo Antão: Ribeira Grande honours 45 women at recognition gala for their contribution to municipal development

Ribeira Grande, 13 Mar (Inforpress) – The City Council of Ribeira Grande will hold on Sunday, the 15th, a gala honouring 45 women from Ribeira Grande, in an initiative intended to recognise the role of these female figures in the social, cultural and community development of the municipality.

According to a press release sent to Inforpress, the initiative forms part of the celebrations of Women’s Month and aims to highlight women who, over the years, have distinguished themselves in different areas of intervention and civic participation, contributing significantly to local progress.

"The honourees represent various sectors of society, namely associative leadership, sports, handicrafts, institutional leadership, citizenship, volunteering, physical activity, health, education, social action and well-being," reads the note.

According to the municipality, the gala symbolises a gesture of admiration and public recognition for the commitment, dedication and impact of these women in the life of the communities of the municipality.
