Santo Antão: Government Announces New Investments in Electricity Access Worth Around 170,000 Escudos

Porto Novo, Dec 19 (Inforpress) – The island of Santo Antão will benefit from new investments in access to electricity in isolated communities in the municipalities of Porto Novo and Ribeira Grande, amounting to approximately 170,000 escudos, announced Minister Alexandre Monteiro.

The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Energy made the announcement on Thursday, the 18th, explaining that the Government is in the process of implementing projects aimed at improving electricity supply in Planalto Norte (Porto Novo) and in Ribeira Alta and Figueiras (Ribeira Grande).

In Planalto Norte, investments budgeted at 70,000 escudos involve replacing existing microgrids with more modern infrastructure in Chã de Feijoal and Chã de Cruz, as well as increasing household connections.

In Ribeira Alta and Figueiras, the project, estimated at 100,000 escudos, also focuses on modernizing local energy microgrids.
