Santo Antão: FELCOS Umbria (Italy) intends to cooperate with municipalities in the areas of civil protection, tourism and accessibility

Porto Novo, Aug 8 (Inforpress) – Civil protection, tourism and accessibility are the areas that will be privileged as part of a partnership that the Italian-based FELCOS Umbria organization intends to establish with the municipalities of Santo Antão.

Chiara Colleti, FELCOS technician (Local Fund for Local Cooperation and Decentralized Cooperation and Sustainable Sustainability) has, in recent days, visited Santo Antão to “know the realities” of the island and identify the areas of the partnership that this organization seeks to establish with the Santo Antão municipalities.

Within the cooperation framework between this Italian organization, composed of twenty municipalities, and the Santo Antão City Halls, a regional project is under consideration, which will focus precisely on the areas of civil protection, tourism and accessibility, covering mainly the East Plateau area.

The visit of FELCOS Umbria’s technician to Santo Antão follows the recent summit of local leaders, which took place in Sal Island, during which this Italian organization maintained its first contacts with the mayors of Santo Antão, with a view to establishing the partnership.
