Ribeira Grande, Sep 16 (Inforpress) – The Tarrafal Youth Football School (EFJT) was crowned the winner of the U-11 and U-13 inter-school football initiation championships on Sunday.
At the U-11 level, the EFJT, which won the championship by adding 9 points, also collected all the individual awards, namely best scorer (Joelson “Piri” Andrade), best player (Marcos Monteiro) and goalkeeper less beaten (Micael Delgado). In second place, in the same level, was the school Evoluindo from Ponta do Sol, with 6 points, and in third place was the Penha de França school, with 3 points.
At the U-13 level, the EFJT dominated again, winning the competition with 10 points against 8 points from the Nossa Senhora do Rosario School, from Ladeira, second position, and the 4 points from the Penha de França school.
Disqualified was the Evoluindo School, from Ponta do Sol, because according to Manuel da Cruz Delgado, better known as Lela, had unsportsmanlike behavior by aligning players who were not in the registration form, contrary to the provisions of the competition regulation. Riquelme Monteiro (Escola Nossa Senhora do Rosário) was elected best player of the competition, Edy Jorge and Geovany Duarte, both from EFJT, were, respectively, best scorer and less beaten goalkeeper.
