Santo Antão: Association of municipalities foresees investment of 27 thousand contos for 2025

Porto Novo, May 16 (Inforpress) – The Association of Municipalities of Santo Antão (AMSA) expects an investment of around 27.000 contos for this year of 2025, an amount that will be applied in “concrete projects”, announced the president of the board of directors.

Armindo Luz spoke to the press on Thursday night, 15th, at the end of the first session of the Intermunicipal Assembly of Santo Antão, which approved the activity plan and budget for 2025.

The mayor explained that the municipal association's budget for this year is around 50,000  contos, of which 27,000 contos is earmarked for specific investments.

As part of this budget, AMSA announced that studies would be carried out with a view to installing a sanitary landfill in Santo Antão that would serve the three municipalities, said Armindo Luz, who acknowledged that the current controlled landfill is serving the island, but the aim is to move towards a sanitary landfill that will respond to the challenges of the municipalities in terms of solid waste management.
