Calheta, São Miguel, May 12 (Inforpress) - Today, the Regional Political Commission (CPR) of the PAICV in Santiago Norte called on the Government and the Municipality of São Miguel to mobilise resources for the maintenance of dams and the creation of support and incentives for farmers.
Aduzindo Furtado, as spokesperson of the CPR of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde in Santiago Norte, expressed his concern during a press conference held near the dam of Flamengos, in the municipality of São Miguel.
The spokesman explained that the team visited the municipality and held talks with farmers in the areas covered by the Flamengos and Principal dams, noting difficulties in water management.
According to Aduzindo Furtado, although the dams have water available, farmers face obstacles in carrying out irrigation due to a lack of support and suitable systems.
