Santa Cruz: Leiziny Varela wins first edition of the short story contest about the municipality and its people

Pedra Badejo, Mar 18 (Inforpress) – The 11th grade student at Alfredo da Cruz Silva High School Leiziny Varela won the first edition of the literary contest “Santa Cruz, its stories and its people” Tuesday, with the story “ The testament of Fernão Fiel de Lugo”.

Speaking to journalists, minutes after the announcement of the winners, the first classified was express herself accomplished and assured that this means “a lot for her”.

“It is a joy for me and for Santa Cruz as a whole, especially our school”, she said adding that this initiative inspires students to have more writing and reading habits. She justifies that she chose the title “The testament of Fernão Fiel de Lugo” because in her municipality there is a company called Justino Lopes, whose founder was Fernão Fiel de Lugo.

The short story “The blessed islands of the mother Africa coast”, by the student Rúben Filipe, won the second position and the third was the work “The fury of those who were hungry”, by student Larissa Cilene.
