Santa Catarina: Assomada celebrates 24 years with ‘clear signs’ of change in organisation and sanitation - mayor

Assomada, May 13 (Inforpress) - The town of Assomada, in the municipality of Santa Catarina, in the interior of Santiago, is celebrating its 24th anniversary and its patron saint, Our Lady of Fatima, with ‘clear signs’ of change in organisation and sanitation.

This was said by the mayor of Santa Catarina, Armindo Freitas, who was speaking to Inforpress about the event, which will have its high point today with a mass and procession. 

‘At the moment we are clearly in the process of reorganising the city, especially in terms of traffic, which involves putting up vertical and horizontal signs, toponymy and the reorganisation of shops,’ he said, reaffirming that the city council team he leads has given “clear signs” of change in the city and in sectors that were once considered critical.

In order to reorganise the city, he said that the council has invested in the municipal fire brigade and in the implementation of the Municipal Police, which will help them to comply with the Municipal Code of Regulations, especially in terms of night-time activities and noise pollution.
