Sal: Kite-Surf World Cup kicked off Sunday at Kite Beach with over 50 athletes

Santa Maria, Mar 2 (Inforpress) – More than 50 athletes will compete on the waves at Kite Beach and Ponta Preta, in Sal, in the first leg of the Kite-Surf World Cup that started Sunday at Kite Beach.

The official opening of the Kite-Surf World Cup, which will take place for a week, in Sal Island, under the organization of Nautics Sports Events, was chaired on Saturday night by the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Santos.

In this first circuit of the GKA Kite-Surf World Cup, which takes place in Cabo Verde to compete for the world title, ten national athletes will be present, eight male and two female, among them Matchu Lopes, Ayrton Cozzolino, Djô Silva, Arsénio Dias, Kelton Lopes, Titik Lopes and Elviz Nunes, while Dianira Lopes and Irati Fonseca are young people who will challenge the waves of this nautical competition.

Altogether there are 53 ‘riders’ from different parts of the world, including Cabo Verde, of which 30 are male and 23 are female, who will have to demonstrate their expertise in wave and ‘free style’. Mitú does not participate in these competitions because he is injured.
