Sal Island: Palmeira receives an apotheosis after winning their second national championship in Santo Antão.

Espargos, July 6 (Inforpress) – Grupo Desportivo da Palmeira was received, on Sunday evening, July 5, in an atmosphere of apotheosis at Amílcar Cabral Airport, upon returning to the island of Sal, after being crowned national football champion for the second time on the island of Santo Antão.

Accustomed to grand receptions from their fans, the Palmeira delegation once again felt the warmth and enthusiasm of the supporters, who turned out in force to greet the new holders of the highest title in Cape Verdean football.

For the club's president, Jamilson Delgado, returning with the trophy represents the complete fulfillment of a goal set by the management.

"It's a feeling of mission accomplished. It was one of the club's objectives, but we achieved it thanks to the commitment and effort of everyone, especially this whole family, our sponsor, and this fantastic group," said the manager, only regretting the temporary absence of four or five members of the group who stayed behind.
