Sal Island: JpD Coordinator concerned about precarious work that does not allow young people to make a life project

Espargos, Aug 14 (Inforpress) – The Youth for Democracy (JpD) coordinator in Sal expressed “concern” about the precariousness of work, especially in the hotel sector, whose contracts “neither facilitate nor allow” young people to do their life project.

Raúl Estrela made these remarks in the context of the International Youth Day celebrations, which took place on August 12, while calling on the authorities to tighten the scrutiny of companies where hundreds of young workers operate.

Because, according to the local JpD leader, the bosses are certainly thinking more about the stability of their business than about the stability of their workers’ bonds.

Raúl Estrela makes this reading, considering the uncertainty caused by the temporary nature of the contractual bond to which the worker is subject, that is, fixed-term contracts, temporary employment contracts, among other situations.
