Praia, Jun 5 (Inforpress) – António Lobo de Pina told reporters on Tuesday that the “big reserves” of oil found in Senegal are “good harbinger” for Cabo Verde, which has maritime borders with that country.
“These are the studies that can tell us whether or not there is oil in Cabo Verdean territorial waters”, said a Cabo Verdean researcher, noting that in Senegal, a country with maritime borders with the archipelago, “large reserves” were found, leads him to believe that only studies can confirm whether or not “black gold” exists in the territorial waters of Cabo Verde.
The investigator made these statements when he was approached, in the margins of the 8th Subregional Ministerial Meeting of the Liaison Committee on the Outer Limit of the Continental Shelf beyond 200 nautical miles, regarding a possible hypothesis of the existence oil in Cabo Verde waters.
For this university professor, only studies can confirm the existence or not of the black gold in the archipelago.
