
City of Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) – The Procultura Programme will conclude on Tuesday, the 31st, after seven years of implementation, with a positive overall assessment, and a second phase, Procultura II, already planned to be coordinated by Cabo Verde.
Project manager Mercedes Pinto stated on Thursday that the programme, launched in 2019, contributed to the development of the artistic community and the cultural and creative economy in Portuguese-speaking African countries and Timor-Leste.
According to the official, Procultura invested around eight million euros in projects in the fields of music and performing arts, in addition to supporting higher education through the awarding of 27 master’s scholarships and 17 undergraduate scholarships.
Mercedes Pinto also highlighted the creation of technical and vocational courses in partnership with the University of Cabo Verde, describing this initiative as one of the programme’s main legacies.
