Praia, Feb 24 (Inforpress) – The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, warned today that hoarding constitutes an economic crime, following several complaints regarding butane gas supply, particularly on the island of Fogo.
The Head of Government was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the launch of the GOV.CV Portal, a platform designed to “modernise, integrate and simplify access to public services.”
On the occasion, he assured that the Government is closely monitoring the complaints registered in recent days regarding failures in the supply of gas and electricity on the island of Fogo, and that the situation is being regularised.
“But there is other information related to hoarding. Hoarding is an economic crime; it means that, in a situation of scarcity, you store goods in order to sell them at a higher price,” he warned.
