Presidential Election 2026: Candidacies Must Be Submitted by Wednesday

Praia, Sept. 14 (Inforpress) – September 16 – this coming Wednesday – is the deadline for submitting candidacies for the presidential election scheduled for November 15 to the Constitutional Court, according to the electoral calendar released by the National Electoral Commission (CNE).

The same source stated that each candidacy must be put forward by a minimum of 1,000 and a maximum of 4,000 eligible voters and submitted to the Constitutional Court.

The nomination process must include a declaration duly subscribed by the proposing registered electors, identifying the candidate being nominated.

The nomination statement must indicate, for each proposer: full name; the number, date of issue, and issuing authority of the civil identification card, identity card, or passport; the municipality or country of electoral registration; and the signature.
