
Mindelo, 4 August (Inforpress) – Candidacies for the office of President of the Republic must be submitted to the Constitutional Court by 16 September, and a draw to determine the order of candidates on the ballot papers will take place the following day, according to the electoral timetable published by the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
This information is set out in the electoral calendar, which was approved by a resolution of the CNE and published in the Official Gazette; the calendar also sets out the deadlines for the election campaign, early voting and other stages of the electoral process in the run-up to the presidential elections scheduled for 15 November.
According to the document, voter registration will be suspended from September 11 and will remain suspended until election day or until November 29 should a second round of voting be required.
The election campaign will run from 29 October until midnight on 13 November, beginning 17 days before polling day and ending two days before the election.
