Praia, Apr 05 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic defended in statements to the press, in the City of Praia, a “greater State involvement” in the financing of higher education in Cabo Verde.
“There must be continuation of this State involvement and it is fundamental the quality of the public service criteria is provided not the because it’s be public and or private”, noted Jorge Carlos Fonseca, for who since any institution has quality and rigor should deserve State funding.
In this sense, he admitted that the financing of higher education is one of the problems in Cabo Verde, since there are still difficulties in access, in the payment of tuition fees, in both higher and secondary education.
“I know from experience that there is some decrease in access and there are many students who leave higher education due to payment difficulties”, said the highest magistrate of the Nation.
