Presidency in the Diaspora: José Maria Neves Received by French Counterpart Emmanuel Macron

Cidade da Praia, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – The Cape Verdean Head of State, José Maria Neves, is today meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of his visit to France as part of the fourth edition of the “Presidency in the Diaspora.”

According to the visit programme, José Maria Neves met on Friday with the Director-General of the French Development Agency (AFD), Rémy Rioux.

The Presidency of the Republic also announced that on Thursday, during a meeting with the Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled El-Enany, the latter reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to structuring projects led by Cabo Verde through the President of the Republic, in his capacity as Champion for the Preservation of Africa’s Natural and Cultural Heritage.

The Head of State, who is also Patron of the Ocean Decade Alliance and Godfather of UNESCO’s General History of Africa, will meet with senior officials in February in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, as part of his agenda dedicated to the preservation of natural and cultural heritage. Khaled El-Enany has already confirmed his attendance.
