Praia: PAICV points out “insecurity and vandalism” as a major concern for the residents in Várzea

Praia, Feb 24 (Inforpress) – The PAICV Regional Political Commission of South Santiago considered that insecurity has been one of the main concerns in the Várzea neighborhood, marked by a wave of “vandalism that disturbs the tranquility and peace of the residents”.

The president of this deliberative body, Carlos Tavares, made these revelations to the press on Sunday after having met with the community of this neighborhood of the capital, with the pretext of listening to the concerns, anxieties, expectations and dreams of this community, in the development process of the City of Praia.

He considered fundamental a new perspective that, in his view, involves a new leadership, “focused on a new ambition, imbued with a spirit designed to leverage, in a more qualitative way, people’s lives”.

The PAICV leader justified his statement on the grounds that this uneasiness has been having an impact on certain businesses, with the owners forced to close their establishments too soon, jeopardizing their income.
