19/11/25 - 11:21 am

Praia, 19 Nov (Inforpress) – The Cultural Centre at the Residence of the Brazilian Ambassador in Praia will host on Friday, the 21st, the musical performance “Caminhos Abertos” by Brazilian composer and singer Demmy, as part of the celebrations of Black Consciousness Month (November).

Described by the producer Insulada as a meeting of music, dance and ancestry, the show was collaboratively created, bringing together Demmy and Cape Verdean artists, with the aim of celebrating the shared cultural heritage between the two countries.

According to a statement, the performance offers a musical experience of exchange intended to highlight “the differences that are equalities” between Brazil and Cabo Verde.

The repertoire will include terreiro chants performed in Portuguese and Yoruba, showcasing elements of candomblé and honouring various orixás.
