Praia: Chinese foundation promotes health fair with free consultations on Women’s Day

Cidade da Praia, Feb 25 (Inforpress) – The Charity Foundation of Chinese and Overseas Chinese in Cabo Verde will hold, on March 8, a health fair at Escola Técnica Cesaltina Ramos, planning to provide approximately 150 free medical consultations aimed at women.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with Chinese doctors and with the support of the Achada Santo António community, is part of the celebrations of International Women’s Day and is primarily intended to support women in situations of economic vulnerability.

In statements to Inforpress, José Barbosa, member of the Achada Santo António community organisation, explained that the initiative will cover the community in general, with special attention to young, adult and elderly women.

“Our intention is to give women, above all those with fewer means to afford a private consultation, an opportunity,” the official stated.
