Praia, 23 July (Inforpress) – The President of the Portuguese Republic, António José Seguro, called on Thursday in Praia for greater cooperation in the health sector in order to reduce the number of patient transfers to Portugal and expand the range of treatments available in Cabo Verde.
The position was expressed after a visit to the Hemodialysis Center of the Dr. Agostinho Neto University Hospital (HUAN), in the city of Praia, as part of the State visit he is making to Cabo Verde.
“What is currently being promoted is to change and expand this cooperation so that the number of evacuations to Portugal is reduced and Cape Verdeans can be treated here, in their own country,” he said.
According to the Portuguese Head of State, this strategy reinforces the friendly relationship between the two countries and reflects the shared commitment to strengthening the responsiveness of the Cape Verdean health system.
