Portugal: Tournament celebrating 50 years of independence brings together former glories of Cape Verdean football

Lisbon, Jun 25 (Inforpress) - The international veterans' football tournament to commemorate the 50th anniversary of national independence will bring together former glories of Cape Verdean football on 5 July at Field No. 2 of the Medideira Stadium in Amora, Portugal.

The information was given to Inforpress today by Loreno Delgado, a member of the Grupo Desportivo Veteranos do Sul de Seixal, organiser of the competition, adding that former glories of portuguese and Bissau-Guinean football will also be on the pitch.

Participating in the competition are Cape Verdean veterans living in France, Portugal and Cabo Verde, most of whom played and captained the Cape Verdean national football team.

The Veteranos do Sul are joined by Central 32, Estarolas from Lisbon, Monchiquense from the Algarve, Grupo Desportivo de Monte Abraão, made up of Bissau-Guineans, Salgadin, Veteranos from Lisbon, Veteranos from Paris and União Amigos from Barreiro.
