Portugal: Cabo Verde invites CPLP for observation mission in legislative and presidential elections

Lisbon, Mar 12 (Inforpress) – The Government of Cabo Verde formally invited today the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) to send an observation mission to the legislative and presidential elections scheduled for May 17 and November 15.

The information was announced to the press by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration and of Cape Verdean Communities, José Luís Livramento, after visiting the headquarters of the CPLP in Lisbon (Portugal).

During the visit, the head of Cape Verdean diplomacy was received in a formal session by the executive secretary of the CPLP, Maria de Fátima Jardim, and by the permanent representatives of the member states.

According to the minister, Cabo Verde will hold legislative elections on May 17 and presidential elections on November 14, and the country therefore decided to invite the CPLP to send a mission to observe and monitor these elections.
