
Porto Novo, Mar 27 (Inforpress) - The resident representative of the United Nations Office in Cape Verde expressed his satisfaction with the success of the young farmers' project at Casa de Meio, in Porto Novo.
According to a note from the municipality, David Matern was received on Wednesday by the mayor of Porto Novo, which was an opportunity for him to praise the impact of the Young Farmers in Casa de Meio project, which had the partnership of the United Nations System, through the Global Environment Facility (GEF SGP) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
The Young Farmers of Casa de Meio project, which was promoted by the Association for the Defence of the Heritage of Mértola (Portugal), consisted of the state allocating plots of land to 47 young people, who are already producing for the market.
The project was co-financed by the government, by Portuguese Cooperation through the Camões Institute, and by the United Nations through the GEF SGP and the FAO.
