Porto Novo, Dec 27 (Inforpress) – The prosecutor of the Judicial District of Porto Novo has ordered closing the lawsuit involving the City Hall’s criminal complaint against the local MP and PAICV workbench leader (opposition party), João Fonseca.
The City Hall of Porto Novo filed a lawsuit against this local MP, following complaints made at one of the sessions of the Municipal Assembly about the alleged involvement of City councilors in paying for private services with tickets for the Kassav music group show in June 2016, at the time of São João festivities.
The prosecutor in this district, Heidmilson Agues Frederico, understood that, although it is considered that on a personal level such expressions “conflict” with some fundamental rights of the mayor and city councilors, the “generality of the citizens” does not consider as offensive the fact that a local MP questioned the City Hall team about “suspected misappropriation of tickets” by its “members”.
The prosecutor, in his closing lawsuit order, to which Inforpress had access, concluded that this is a situation of “a political confrontation, generating discussions”, and the accused subsequently made such allegations.
