Porto Novo, Oct 4 (Inforpress) – Farmers in Martiene and Chã de Branquinho, in the countryside of Porto Novo, Santo Antão, say they are “eager” by the starting of the access roads works to these agricultural valleys, launched in July by Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.
Roads, with a six-month implementation period, aim to improve access to these areas and thus facilitate the disposal of agricultural products in response to a claim from farmers who are “concerned” about the delay in starting work.
Farmers from the two valleys recall that at the projects launch the head of government had ensured that the works would start “immediately”, which was not the case, and work was still under way almost three months after launch.
The mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, said he had the indication that the road works will start between October and November this year. Santo Antão residents, in general, have been wondering about the delay in starting the works of these roads.
