Porto Novo: City council invests in the maintenance of bathing beaches with a focus on seaside tourism

Porto Novo, 29 July (Inforpress) – City Council of Porto Novo plans to invest, over the course of this year, around one thousand contos in the maintenance of the municipality’s bathing beaches, with a view to boosting seaside tourism.

The municipal investment plan for 2026 highlights the maintenance of bathing beaches as one of the investments aimed at promoting the tourism sector in this municipality.

In addition to Curraletes beach, which has received around 30,000 contos in regeneration funding in recent years, Porto Novo also boasts an extensive black-sand beach in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo Bay, which is very popular during the peak tourist season in Santo Antão (October to May).

There are also the bathing beaches of Armazém – one of the most popular during the hottest time of the year – and Caisinho.
