Porto Novo: Association launches campaign to collect school supplies to help disadvantaged children

Porto Novo, 11 August (Inforpress) – The “Nós Zona Ma Nós” Association, based in Chá de Alecrim, Ribeira das Patas, is running a campaign to collect school supplies to support around twenty children from disadvantaged families.

The information was provided by the association’s chairman, Hernany Neves, who explained that this initiative, which will run until the start of the school year, involves collecting exercise books, pens, pencils, rucksacks and other school supplies to donate to underprivileged children in Chã de Alecrim.

This campaign arose from the observation that the families residing in Chã de Alecrim "are all disadvantaged" and therefore face difficulties in acquiring school supplies for their children, this official further explained.

“We decided to launch this campaign to collect school supplies in an attempt to meet the basic needs of 19 children from low-income families residing in Chã de Alecrim,” emphasized the community leader, who appealed for the participation of “people and institutions of goodwill.”
