Pilon di Mujer’ project was “challenging and encouraging” - national coordinator

Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) - The ‘Pilon di Mudjer/Senhoras de Si’ project was challenging and encouraging and succeeded in empowering and training a total of 150 young people and women from the island of Santiago, according to the national coordinator, Antonieta Martins.

The project, which closed this Friday in the city of Praia, is the result of a partnership between several Portuguese and Cape Verdean institutions working in sensitive areas of human rights.

It aimed to train young people and women in topics such as sexual and reproductive health, prevention of gender-based violence and personal empowerment, promoting significant changes in their lives and communities.

According to the national coordinator, the project was ‘challenging and encouraging’ in that they managed, despite some challenges, to train a total of 150 people, including young people and women, so that in the future they would be able to replicate this training in their communities.
