Praia, Aug 23 (Inforpress) – Deputy Secretary of State for Maritime Economy Paulo Veiga will represent Cabo Verde at the high-level meeting of the Declaration of Belem Council today in Galway (Ireland).
According to a press release, the Cabo Verdean government official attends the event, which aims to reinforce observations in the Atlantic Ocean, following an invitation from the Directorate-General of the European Commission for Research and Innovation.
The meeting, according to the same source, will guide Belem’s co-chairs on the implementation of the Declaration, which will be supported by the “All AtlaCtic Cooperation for Ocean Research and Innovation” (AANChOR) project, funded under the Program Framework 2020 of the European Union (EU) for this purpose.
The Declaration of Belem on Atlantic Research and Innovation Cooperation, signed on 13 July 2017 at the Torre de Belém (Lisbon), constitutes a high-level political agreement between the European Union (EU), Brazil and South Africa to deepen joint scientific cooperation in the Atlantic Ocean in pursuit the objectives set out in the Declaration.
