Porto Novo, Jun 3 (Inforpress) – The restoration works on the seafront of the city of Pombas, in Paul, Santo Antão, which the people from Paul has been waiting for four years, will continue in 2019, said the mayor António Aleixo.
The residents have been insistently warning the Government of the need to move forward with the seafront and the protection of the city of Pombas project, a city where the houses are being put at “serious risk” due to the degradation of the current wall caused by the action of the sea.
António Aleixo assures that the project, budgeted at 120 million escudos, will begin to be implemented still in 2019, thus reassuring families who say they are waiting “anxiously” for the implementation of the works.
In 2015, the then Government launched the construction of a new protection wall of the city of Pombas, estimated at that time in 15 million escudos, which did not progress, for reasons that the City Hall said it was unaware.
