Parliament: UCID criticises the Government's Programme for lacking priorities, goals and deadlines

Praia, 17 July (Inforpress) – João Santos Luís, a Member of Parliament for the Independent and Democratic Cape Verdean Union (UCID, opposition), criticised the lack of priorities, quantified targets, implementation deadlines and sources of funding in the Government’s Programme, which was presented to parliament today.

According to João Santos Luís, who made a four-minute speech during the debate on the Government’s Programme, the document contains many intentions but few answers regarding how to achieve them.

The president of UCID also said that his party had analysed the document “calmly, dispassionately and thoroughly”, seeking to fulfil the role of “an attentive and responsible opposition that Cape Verdeans expect”.

According to the elected national representative, the program identifies several problems affecting the country and presents a vision for transformation in different sectors.
