PAICV believes that the set of actions announced by the Government for the security sector “is a sign that the situation is serious”

Praia, Nov 13  (Inforpress) – The PAICV today considered that the set of prevention and fight actions against crime announced Monday by the chief executive is a sign of recognition by the Government that the situation of insecurity in the country “is serious”.

This finding was made by the PAICV ‘s parliamentary workbench leader – the largest opposition party, Rui Semedo, at a press conference in Praia, on the balance of parliamentary days for the first plenary session of November, which starts this Wednesday.

For the MP, the Government’s decision to meet with those responsible for some entities, namely the Attorney General of the Republic, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the National Security Advisor, is a sign that the measures taken so far were not sufficient to address the issue of insecurity.

The Prime Minister announced Monday through his official Facebook account that the enlarged meeting focused on strengthening the prevention and combat of theft and robbery involving violence or weapons, including internal drug trafficking and gun use.
